The Verber Dental Group is seeking a Full-Time Orthodontic Dental Assistant to join the team at Valley Advanced Orthodontics with serving patients from Carlisle to Mechanicsburg, Camp Hill, Harrisburg, and Enola! POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for assisting the orthodontist in clinical treatment of patients, ordering supplies, and helping in general for all areas related to the clinical areas. To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform and satisfactorily meet essential job responsibilities and functions for this position. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:
- Perform clinical procedures as directed by the orthodontist, including changing wires
- Assist doctor in explaining treatment plan and progress
- Review instructions with patient/parent
- Assist doctor in fitting/delivering orthodontic appliances and all other clinical office needs
- Maintain supplies and carts
- Update treatment card notes for each visit
- Review patients health history and update changes after seating
- Radiography patients as needed
- Take records (scan and load photographs)
- Maintains clean treatment rooms in compliance with all CDC and OSHA regulations
- Sets up and turns over room in efficient manner
- Maintains and sterilizes dental equipment
- Performs other duties as requested by Practice Administrator or dentists
- Notifies Practice Administrator in timely manner and according to policy when out sick
- Check Appliances delivered to the office before appointment

Requirements
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate of a Dental Assistant program and 1 year of Orthodontic experience, and demonstrated knowledge in Orthodontic office procedures.
- PA X-ray License
- 1 year of orthodontic assisting experience
- CPR certification (we offer free in-house training)
- Child Abuse Clearance, Criminal Background Check, and FBI Fingerprinting as deemed necessary by Human Resources
- Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills that contribute to the team spirit and put patients and parents at ease
- Keep abreast of and follow OSHA, HIPAA, and Infection Control procedures
- Experience working with technology
A Plus If You Also Have (preferred, but not required):
Prior experience using dental software including Open Dental
