What are the responsibilities and job description for the High School Science position at Vergennes Union High School?
Vergennes Union High School is seeing a Vermont certified teacher for their high school Science Department. Candidates should have experience teaching biology, earth science, and environmental science at a variety of levels. Experience with physical science is preferred, but not required. The teacher will also have responsibility for a daily advisory with 10-15 students.
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF:
- Understanding and proven application of Proficiency-Based Learning
- Experience with formative assessment and Universal Design for Learning
- Ability to positively contribute to an environment that responds to students’ academic, social, emotional, behavioral, and physical needs
- Experience collaborating with department colleagues, special educators, and cross-disciplinary teachers on curriculum, instruction, and assessment
- Experience and a desire to implement and develop interdisciplinary learning opportunities
- Experience communicating and partnering closely with families regarding student progress and supports
