On-Site Project Superintendent (Traveling - Commercial Retail)

Position: Traveling Superintendent

Location: Orlando, FL

Position Reports to: General Superintendent

Vericon is headquartered in Mountainside, NJ with offices in TX, FL and NC. We are looking for a qualified Superintendent in Florida that is willing to travel in the south east.

Position Objectives and Responsibilities

Typical Projects

• Ground Up Retail
• Commercial and Office Space Renovations
• Interior/Exterior Refreshes
• Restacks

General Responsibilities

• Responsible for management of construction projects
• Manage the day-to-day field activities to ensure that the project milestone dates and overall schedule completion dates are met
• Creating short-interval look-ahead project schedules to make sure that upcoming events are communicated and tracked
• Maintain a daily log of job site activities, timesheets, and e-mails
• Responsible for client satisfaction, project quality, and cost control
• Conform to applicable corporate policies, procedures, and ethical standards
• Communicate regularly with Property Managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and others
• Interact with other various staff members to obtain support and resources
• Managing and coordinating the work to ensure that it is constructed in a manner that is consistent with the contract documents and/or scope of work
• Verifying that all work is installed in a workmanlike manner
• Obtaining all required inspections
• Ensuring all aspects of the physical work are fully documented, including red line drawings
• Managing changes in project scope and ensure that the project manager knows of them
• Managing the punch list to assure timely completion
• Conduct weekly job site/safety meetings with all engaged subcontractors
• Provide consistent feedback and reports to project team
• Other duties as required

Position Requirements and Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS: Must have excellent communication skills both orally and in writing. Must be computer literate and capable of using MS Word, Excel and iPad/laptop. This position requires an individual that is confident, energetic, and has leadership skills. Must be able follow the direction of the project manager and/or the senior project manager with a direct reporting relationship to the General Superintendent.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5 years' experience in commercial/building construction
• Familiar with ground up retail construction projects
• OSHA Trained, required
• Must be highly organized and efficient
• Able to perform hands-on work with limited time at a desk
• Attention to detail and a self-starter will be a requirement
• Able to handle a wide variety of obligations during any given day
• Must be willing to travel, work after hours, and nights/weekends
• Great people skills and a positive attitude will also be an attribute of the perfect candidate

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $90,000.00 per year
