Contract length : 12 months - likely to extend past 24 months

Location / Office schedule : Greenwood Village, CO
hybrid requirements : 4 days a week onsite and 1 day remote to start. Will evaluate after 90 days - can then have option to work remote 4 days a week and Thursdays in office. (Required in office on Thursdays for team lunches, arch hours, code reviews, ETC)
Interview process : 1st phone screen w / Phil, 2nd 1.5 hour panel onsite tech screen. Tech screen will involve WB session, mainly focused on obj. oriented programming - arch / draw out system
Responsibilities of the role / team : DevOps team responsible for all of 'Spectrum Data Lake' - mainly focused on development and deployments. They own $20M in AWS assets supporting 25 teams across the organization. They facilitate access to the data, secure the data, and build applications to view the data (ex. new app takes data and builds visuals / dashboards real time)
Support piece is minimal, 10-15% - mainly for EMR jobs, debugging - in the last 2 years only 1 on call fix.
Projects they'll be working on : Moving all on prem to AWS this year (100s of petabytes), moving towards Hive account model - data will go through central account, want to become design agnostic - not rely so heavily on AWS
Top Skills :
- Need to have architect experience - will be expected to design / arch complex solutions
- Strong Python coding exp (open to Java but Python is highly preferred due to work in Spark / PySpark)
- Must have extensive experience w / IaC (Teraform)
