Job Summary:
Develop and implement plans to accomplish program objectives, including disposition and closure of non-conformance documentation, development and approval of First Article Inspection reports, and authoring/support of supplier contract deliverables.
Responsibilities:
Ability to read, interpret, and review parts and product drawings and military/industry specifications in accordance with government or customer contract requirements.
Awareness of the status of Program and Project Integrated Master Schedule to ensure milestones (e.g., delivery, program status meetings with the customer, production key events) are accomplished. Use of this awareness to prioritize assignments.
Identify Quality Issues in the program and assure a plan is developed, in coordination with other functional departments for implementing corrective action. Initiate corrective action, if necessary.
Schedule and support Customer and/or Government Source Inspections.
Timely response and closure of SCAR (Supplier Corrective Action Requests) received from the customer(s) for the assigned programs.
Provide leadership on quality issues concerning both customers and internal programs to assure effective cause, corrective and preventative action, including monitoring for continued effectiveness of actions.
Provide complex quote support and information based on bidding to proposal requirements.
Support the requirements specified by our customers and the Quality Management System.
Provide input and aid in closure of the quality system requirements for Cause, Corrective and Preventative actions using the specified quality systems.
Understanding of quality deliverables and the associated needs of the business. Communicates information to appropriate departments and individuals, specifically any quality issues or engineering requirements that will impact program schedules. Provides updates to management.
Implements Lean methodologies when developing project plans/layouts to achieve company goals in cost, throughput, productivity, quality, and delivery.
Ensures that work environment is clean, safe and that safety, health and environmental procedures and regulations are followed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or similar technical discipline. Technical experience within the military will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Experience:
- 5 years of defense/aerospace experience or 7-10 years of related experience in a manufacturing or design environment.
- Working knowledge of AS9100/ISO 9001 or similar Quality Management System in a highly regulated industry.
- Working familiarity with common Quality methodologies such as SPC, Six Sigma, and Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action.
- Ability to read complex blueprints, technical charts, and specification sheets.
- Strong Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and Project skills desirable.
- Leadership and/or supervisory experience desirable.
