Verily’s internship is a paid 13 week program for rising seniors, either undergraduate or graduate students, who are interested in working at the intersection of technology, data science and healthcare. The program is designed for all students, and again this year we encourage students who have been historically underrepresented in this field to explore the program, which is a pathway towards full-time employment within Verily. This includes but is not limited to: Black/African-American, Latinx/Hispanic, Native American, students with disabilities, veterans, and non-binary people.
Verily’s Security Operations team is looking for a motivated intern to contribute to the development and implementation of security tools. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to work with experienced engineers from both the security side as well as the privacy side, to design, build and deploy tools and automation. If you’re a quick learner with a strong foundation in software engineering and have a knack for learning more about the world of security software engineering, we encourage you to apply!

Responsibilities
- Work closely with the security and privacy teams to design, develop and deliver solutions to streamline workflows and make our processes much more efficient and scalable!
- Come up with ideas for real world problems that security organizations in the healthcare industry face.
- Develop using industry-standard tools using GitHub, GCP, GoLang, React, Docker and Terraform, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in university working towards an undergrad or graduate degree in Computer Science or related field.
- Previous internship or demonstrated experience (i.e. personal projects, volunteer projects, etc) in software development.
- Experience with one or more general purpose programming languages including but not limited to: Java, C/C , C#, Objective-C, Go, Python, or JavaScript.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms such as GCP or AWS.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively.
- Academic or professional exposure to healthcare or life sciences, with emphasis on HL7 FHIR.
Salary : $48 - $56
