Job purpose
- The Medical Assistant will be responsible for supporting Doctors and other medical professionals in providing care to patients.
Duties and responsibilities
- Draw blood, take vitals
- EKG's, Spirometry testing, wound care
- PT-INR finger sticks
- Administration of several different injections and immunizations
- nebulizer treatments, ear lavages and assisting the doctor with non-invasive procedures
- Process specimens for laboratory accordingly to protocol
- Refill medications through EMR, call patients with test results
- Triage patients and call back pertaining to the physician's recommendations
- Stock exam rooms, discard expired medication samples and track on log
- Order monthly clinical supplies
- Work all HEDIS preventative requirement measures, ordering clinical supplies
- Complete month end logs for AHCA.
- Other related duties as assigned
- Medical Assistant experience, certified preferred,
- 1-2 years of experience in a PCP clinic setting
- Phlebotomy experience preferred
- Knowledge of medication and generic equivalents
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Familiarity with common EMR applications
- Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
- Excellent time management skills
- A valid Florida drivers license, reliable transportation & automobile insurance
- Ability to pass a background check
- Be legally authorized to work in the United States
