Position Overview:
The individual fulfilling this position handles general customer service for new and existing customers by performing certain phases of teller operations and new deposit account opening processes. This individual will be required to have knowledge of bank products, deposit operations, deposit compliance, new accounts procedures, online banking, and debit cards. This individual shall exercise independent judgment in most instances and require minimal supervision.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Promotes business for the Bank by maintaining good customer service both in person and by handling incoming calls.
- Responsible for opening and managing business and consumer deposit accounts and IRA products.
- Receives checks and cash for deposit, verifies amount, and examines checks for proper endorsements. Cashes checks and pays out money after verification of signatures and customer balances. Accepts loan payments.
- Prepares CTRs and familiar with SARs.
- Assists with daily ATM balancing and currency orders and shipments.
- Complete various customer service responsibilities including responding to online banking, mobile banking, and debit card inquiries and questions.
- Gather information required to initiate wire transfers.
- Processes check orders, re-orders, and debit cards.
- Opens safe deposit boxes and acts as the safe deposit custodian.
- Adheres to bank policies and procedures to minimize losses.
- Other responsibilities at the discretion of management.
Qualifications & Education Requirements:
- 2 years banking related experience preferred
- High School Graduate/GED
- Excel/Word Processing
- Must possess excellent customer service skills and good verbal and written communication
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-task environment
- Capable of reliable attendance
- Aptitude for attention to detail and ability to identify and correct errors
- Willing to attend continuing education related courses pertaining to job
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk, reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
