Learn more at www.verint.comOverview of Job Function : The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for all aspects of the development of platforms and applications. This is a highly skilled hands-on role requiring extensive proficiency involved in all aspects of the development of cloud-based software solutions. Subject to their specialization, this Senior Software Engineer leads the design, development, testing, publishing, and / or support of different cloud-based products and solutions and serves as a subject matter expertise for customer implementation and cloud platform support. The Senior Software Engineer works closely with a global team of engineers to build robust solutions that meet our business objectives following continuous integration and continuous deployment processes, while supporting software and associate software engineers. Additionally, this role provides recommendations to management as to process, technologies, or other improvements intended to benefit productivity, efficiency and / or quality of the solutions developed by the team and leads the implementation of new solutions.Principal Duties and Essential Responsibilities : Ongoing evaluation (test) of feature design – proactively work with others to identify issues or potential risk areas with the architecture (performance, etc)Distill requirements from feature level into implementation level tasksDevelop features using best practices and ensure it fits with the architecture for the productEnsure the right work is being done, work with Team Lead to know that product qualities like, unit tests, automation, throughput, capacities, security & performance will be sufficientEnsure design and implementation work meets the stakeholder’s requirementsEnsure that the feature design is correct for operations, as well as deployment and sustainabilitySupport departmental and team initiativesWork with Team Technical Architect and Lead to define, document, and communicate coherent feature designCommunicate relevant risks and issues to Team Lead and other relevant team members inside and / or outside the teamProvide technical leadership to less experienced members of the team – mentor, coach, continuous improvementTake responsibility for technical implementation and decision making including the delivery of featuresIdentify, monitor and resolve feature related issues; escalate if individual resolution is not possibleReview documentation and guides created by more junior members of the teamGuide Software Engineers on how to create sufficient, complete documentation and guides that help onboard new people to the teamEnsure stakeholders understand feature architectureMaintain communication with stakeholders and ensure changes to any previously agreed solutions are communicated; understand evolutionary pathsWork with assigned partners to ensure an effective and productive relationship, both within the product house and the wider regional Verint support organization.Prioritize and resolve technical problems and assist others with the sameEnsure the prioritization of scope (including defects) is understoodUnderstand the development process and suggest improvements to itIdentify areas of technical risk in a feature and options to de-riskSupport opportunities to address technical debt as part of a releaseSupport the design process and ensure it complies with product architectureSupport planning activities such as time and work estimates, dependencies, risk areas, and sequencing tasksMinimum Requirements : Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering or related field5 years experience in design and programming large scale applications through all phases of the software development life cycle including testing, implementation and auditingAbility to manage multiple priorities and parallel projects with strong organizational, time management, and project leadership skillsAbility to lead small teams virtuallyExperience with REST API / microservice applications : Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, junitExperience with SQL / NoSQL databases : PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, DynamoDBExperience with ETL and data warehouseExperience with database query optimization and performance troubleshootingExperience with GITAbility to take ownership of assignments and drive to resolutionAbility to work in a fast-paced, high-energy environmentKnowledge of behavior driven development practices using technologies such as CucumberExperience with software automation tools such as Selenium.Experience working in both legacy and greenfield codebases.Experience writing clean, readable and maintainable code.Knowledge of software performance testing and profiling toolsExperience with version control systems e.g. GitHubAdvanced knowledge of an IDE e.g., Eclipse, IntelliJ IDEAExperience with continuous integration systems e.g. Jenkins, HarnessSuccessful completion of a background screening process including, but not limited to, employment verifications, criminal search, OFAC, SS Verification, as well as credit and drug screening, where applicable and in accordance with federal and local regulationsPreferred RequirementsExperience with containerized runtime environments : Docker, KubernetesExperience with Cloud hosting services : AWS, Azure, GCPExperience with Application Performance Management systems : NewRelic, AppDynamics, ELK#LI-KD1MIN : $103KMAX : $150KVerint Systems Inc. is committed to maintaining a workplace free from discrimination, retaliation, and sexual and any other form of harassment.
