Job Description
Title: Grammar School Aide
Reports to: Grammar School Head & Classroom Teacher
Status: Part-time
Basic Function
The Grammar School Aide provides support to a classroom teacher or teachers within their assigned grade level by taking direction from the teacher and seeking out opportunities to assist the teacher and students in daily activities.
Duties & Responsibilities
Provide support for the classroom teacher and students as directed by the classroom teacher.
Track student progress data as directed by the classroom teacher and/or Head of Grammar School.
Reinforce the lessons taught by the classroom teacher, including the integration of a biblical worldview, to assist students with classwork.
Provide support for the classroom teacher when student discipline issues arise.
Attend trainings/in-services/additional meetings as directed by the Head of the Grammar School.
Qualifications
Required Personal Qualities
Have received Jesus Christ as his/her personal Savior and believe that the Bible is Gods Word and standard for faith and daily living.
Be in whole-hearted agreement with Veritas Academys Statements of Faith and Mission.
Be a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and action toward others (Luke 6:40). This includes being committed to Gods biblical standards for sexual conduct.
Be a Christian who is, and will remain during the period of employment, an active member of a Christ-centered church, growing in his/her Christian relationship with God, and actively practicing and exhibiting Christian principles of the Christian faith.
Be spiritually mature and consistently maintain a daily devotional and prayer life.
Recognize the role of parents as primarily responsible before God for their childrens education and be prepared to assist them in that task.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal form.
Proven ability to quickly and efficiently identify problems and find solutions.
Excellent relationship building skills in order to develop rapport with administration, faculty members, parents, and students.
Discernment so as not to circulate confidential information inappropriately.
Required Education and Experience
Bachelors degree
1 year of experience in a related role
CPR Certification
Physical Demands
Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
