We are seeking an experienced Solar Energy Storage Engineer to design, develop, and optimize battery energy storage systems (BESS) integrated with solar PV projects. The ideal candidate will work closely with engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) teams to ensure seamless energy storage integration, grid compliance, and project efficiency.
- System Design & Integration: Design battery energy storage solutions for utility-scale and commercial solar PV projects, including lithium-ion and emerging storage technologies.
- Grid Interconnection & Compliance: Ensure compliance with ERCOT, IEEE, UL, and NEC regulations for interconnecting solar storage systems.
- Energy Modeling & Optimization: Use software such as HOMER, PVSyst, MATLAB, PSCAD, or ETAP to analyze energy storage performance and economics.
- Technical Due Diligence: Evaluate battery technologies, cycle life, degradation models, and thermal management for optimal system design.
- Project Development Support: Collaborate with developers, utilities, and stakeholders on feasibility studies, permitting, and financial modeling.
- Vendor & Equipment Selection: Work with battery manufacturers, inverter suppliers, and integrators to select and validate components.
- Construction & Commissioning Support: Provide on-site technical support during system installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, or a related field.
- 3–7 years of experience in solar storage engineering or energy storage system design.
- Strong understanding of battery chemistry, BMS (Battery Management Systems), and power electronics.
- Hands-on experience with energy storage modeling software (HOMER, PSCAD, ETAP, or similar).
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work cross-functionally with teams.
