What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physical Education teacher position at Veritas Christian Academy?
Veritas Christian Academy is currently interviewing candidates for a full time PreK-8th grade Physical Education Instructor who would also help organize and supervise after-school enrichment activities. The successful candidate will have a strong background in physical education, a demonstrated history of work with children and adolescents, good classroom management skills, understanding of the pedagogy of young children, and strong organizational skills. The prospective teacher will need to integrate character development with specific skill development in each class.
A Bachelor’s degree and teaching certification is preferred, and prior experience working with children and/or adolescents is essential. Please refer to veritasma.org to download and complete an application for employment.
Schedule:
Monday to Friday, approximately 10:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Job Functions:
• Prepare gymnasium and needed equipment prior to each class session.
• Communicate with classroom teachers about the needs, successes, and concerns of individual students and/or class.
• Create and maintain an environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social,
and emotional development of students.
• Prepare and implement lesson plans, providing for appropriate learning experiences for each student group and
• Work with other faculty to supervise recess periods.
• Organize, manage, and supervise after-school enrichment programs.
