Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and nurturing Pre-Kindergarten Teacher to join our team and provide a Christ-centered, play-based learning environment. The ideal candidate will foster a safe, joyful, and developmentally appropriate atmosphere where young children can grow spiritually, socially, emotionally, and academically. Our program focuses on hands-on learning, creativity, and faith integration while preparing children for future academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Instruction and Curriculum Implementation
- Develop and implement a play-based, developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with the principles of early childhood education and Christian values.
- Plan engaging activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Foster spiritual growth by incorporating Bible stories, songs, prayer, and Christian principles into daily routines.
- Create a nurturing and inclusive environment where each child feels loved, valued, and safe.
2. Classroom Management
- Establish and maintain a positive, structured, and respectful classroom environment.
- Guide children in developing problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills through positive reinforcement and Christ-centered discipline techniques.
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods to meet the unique needs of each child.
3. Communication and Collaboration
- Build strong relationships with children, families, and colleagues to foster a sense of community.
- Maintain open, consistent, and professional communication with parents through regular updates, conferences, and newsletters.
- Work collaboratively with co-teachers, support staff, and administration to ensure a seamless learning environment.
4. Assessment and Documentation
- Observe and assess children’s developmental progress and maintain accurate, up-to-date records.
- Use observations to inform instruction and provide feedback to parents regarding their child’s growth.
- Prepare progress reports and conduct parent-teacher conferences as needed.
5. Health, Safety, and Compliance
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in accordance with licensing regulations and program policies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
- Follow emergency protocols and procedures as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Early Childhood Education. Must be able to obtain and maintain Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) certification.
- Successful prior teaching experience working in a preschool or early childhood education setting.
- Strong understanding of child development and play-based learning principles.
- Ability to integrate Christian faith into curriculum and daily interactions.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Salary and Benefits
$25,000-$35,000 depending on experience and certifications. Medical ( $75/month deposited in HSA), dental and vision plans offered to all fulltime (30 hrs/wk) employees. $25,000 Life/AD
