Veritas Florida is excited to announce new opportunities for a dedicated Physical Education Teacher and/or Sports Coach within our classical, Christian, college preparatory program that is expanding. This role calls for a dynamic and enthusiastic professional eager to nurture and develop physical education skills and sportsmanship among young learners, all delivered within a Christian worldview.
The individual stepping into this role will have the unique opportunity to teach and coach part-time – from one to four days per week – depending on the needs and scheduling within the school year. This provides ample opportunity to make a significant impact on our students while maintaining personal work-life balance. It is important to note that this is not a remote job; the successful candidate will be required to engage in person, benefitting from direct interaction with students that are respectful and are eager to learn.

Duties and Responsibilities
Coach and train students in various sports, fostering teamwork, strategy, and personal health.
Implement engaging and comprehensive activities in physical education that cater to the abilities of students.

Assess students’ performance regularly and provide feedback aimed at capability enhancement.
Help Athletic Director coordinate sports events and competitions, assisting in the logistics involved and ensuring a supportive environment for all participants.
Ensure equipment and facilities are maintained in an excellent condition and are ready for use in physical education classes and sporting events.
Maintain accurate student records, including attendance.
Provide constructive feedback that supports spiritual growth.
Participate actively in periodic staff meetings and teacher training sessions to ensure consistency and high standards across all levels.
Cultivate a classroom atmosphere that is supportive and encouraging, aligning with the school’s mission and values.
Instill a love for learning and a respectful classroom environment.
Work collaboratively with other staff to promote the overall mission of the school.
Communicate effectively with parents and staff regarding students' progress and embodying the school’s commitment to partnership in education.
Requirements
Must be a committed Christian, actively living a lifestyle in accordance with the Christian faith and eager to incorporate this perspective into teaching practice.
Must hold at least a Bachelor’s degree and a strong foundation in pedagogical strategies in physical education will be advantageous.
Must have prior coaching experience, preferably with a specialization in one or more sports.
Teacher certification is not necessary, but a strong foundational understanding of the subjects to be taught is required.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to respectfully and effectively interact with students, parents, and staff.
Strong organizational and time-management skills; capable of balancing multiple priorities.
Passionate about working with youth and fostering an environment conducive to learning.
