Senior Accountant – Renewable Energy

The Senior Accountant is a new position within a global renewable energy company with growing corporate operations in the Baltimore area. This full-time position will join a dynamic accounting team and perform a variety of accounting operations and financial reporting functions as well as support business units with financial analysis. The Senior Accountant opportunity will offer a competitive base salary in the $85,000 to $95,000 range, plus 10% annual bonus, excellent benefits, and strong career mobility growth potential. This position will offer a hybrid work schedule with in office requirements of 3 days per week. Job Description - Senior Accountant
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and industry-specific regulations.
- Assist of account reconciliations among various GL ledgers and intercompany transactions.
- Responsible for month-end/year-end closing activities, journals entries tracking all business transactions.
- Participate in reviewing necessary procedures including revenue, expenses, etc.
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts, providing variance analysis and strategic financial insights.
- Ensure relevant, accurate, reliable accounting transactions in the accounting system.
- Support project accounting for renewable energy projects, ensuring accurate recording of construction in progress, asset capitalization, and revenue recognition.
- Ensure compliance with tax filings, renewable energy credits (RECs), and other industry-specific financial regulations. Assist with year-end audit, tax filing and other state regulatory fillings as needed.
- Responsible for processing of customer billings, vendor invoices, employee expenses, customer receipts and maintain related supporting documentation in a timely manner.
- Responsible for coordination with project team to ensure proper accounting record for project allocation.
- Maintain accounts receivable, accounts payable, and responsible for customer collections.
- Assist management team with other accounting operations duties as needed.
- Participate in organizing balance sheets٫ income statements and other relevant financial documentation under the purview of senior management.
Qualifications - Senior Accountant
- 2 years' of professional accounting experience whether through public accounting or internal corporate.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance,or related field.
- CPA or future CPA track preferred
- Experience with GAAP principles
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software
- Experience in real estate or renewal energy industry a plus but not required
- Experience in intercompany transactions
- Strong team player skills with close attention to detail
- Strong work effort and highly career driven with desire to grow and develop in both career development and responsibility
