What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Academy Teacher (Middle School, Summer 2025) position at Veritas Prep?
Veritas is looking for strong teachers to plan and deliver a three week-long academic experience for students to increase their academic achievement, foster growth and minimize summer slide.
The teachers would plan and deliver grade-level curriculum in the assigned content area and grade level, monitor student progress, and report outcomes to the Summer Academy director. The goal of the week is for more students to get targeted academic support to help them meet grade level standards as we support our students to recover from learning loss during the pandemic.
Teacher responsibilities include:
- Plan for grade level acceleration and remediation on key standards as indicated by school leaders.
- Track daily attendance and strive for 90% or higher attendance each day for your cohort of 20-25 students.
- Monitor and adjust student interventions.
- Track mastery of skills by lesson and report to the Summer Academy director by the end of the week.
- Teach the required number of hours from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. daily, and attend each day, which may include enrichment responsibilities.
- Lead students in operational parts of the day including arrival, breakfast, lunch, and dismissal.

Stipend Amount:
- $4,000 for completion of the entire three-week program.
