We are seeking an experienced Data Warehouse Architect to design, develop, and maintain a robust data warehouse system tailored to the unique needs of our logistics operations. The ideal candidate will deeply understand data modeling, ETL processes, and logistics-specific data requirements, such as supply chain management, transportation, inventory tracking, and demand forecasting. This role will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity, scalability, and accessibility, enabling data-driven decision-making to optimize logistics performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Warehouse Design: Architect and implement a scalable, high-performance data warehouse infrastructure to support logistics operations, including shipment tracking, warehouse management, and route optimization.
- Data Modeling: Develop and maintain logical and physical data models optimized for logistics data, ensuring efficient storage, retrieval, and analysis of large datasets.
- ETL Development: Design and oversee Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to integrate data from diverse sources, such as transportation management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP platforms, and IoT devices.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor and tune data warehouse performance, ensuring fast query execution and minimal downtime for business intelligence (BI) and reporting tools.
- Collaboration: Partner with logistics analysts, supply chain managers, and BI developers to identify data requirements and deliver actionable insights.
- Data Governance: Establish and enforce data quality standards, security protocols, and compliance with industry regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA if applicable).
- Integration: Enable seamless integration of the data warehouse with logistics software, APIs, and third-party platforms used in freight, shipping, and inventory management.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for architecture designs, data flows, and system processes.
- Innovation: Stay updated on emerging data technologies and recommend tools or strategies to enhance logistics data capabilities.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience:
- 5 years of experience in data warehouse architecture or a similar role.
- 2 years of experience in the logistics, supply chain, or transportation industry.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in data warehouse platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, Microsoft Azure Synapse).
- Expertise in SQL and database management systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
- Strong experience with ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, Apache NiFi, or custom scripting).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their data services.
- Knowledge of BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker) for reporting and visualization.
- Logistics Knowledge: Understanding of logistics workflows, including inventory management, shipping, and demand planning.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to translate business requirements into technical data solutions.
