SUMMARY
The Rehab Tech is responsible for providing assistance to the nursing and therapy team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works alongside the physical, occupational and speech therapists to assist in group and individual therapy treatments
- Assist the therapy and nursing departments
- Working with nursing staff to get patients get ready for therapy
- Helping get patients to the therapy gym
- Clean all exercise equipment, durable medical equipment and therapy areas
- Provide medical equipment including wheelchairs, walkers, and commodes to patient rooms and therapy gym as needed
- Communicate with patients and all staff
- Assists with ADLs
- Communicates with nursing staff and care team effectively, both verbally and in writing and carry out directives
- Charts notes in professional and appropriate manner that timely, accurately and thoroughly to reflect the care provided to the patient, as well as the patient’s response to the care. Uses only approved abbreviations
- Report all changes in the patients to the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse as soon as practical
- Report all accidents and incidents you observe on the shift that they occur
- Assist in transporting patients to/from therapy
- Assist with lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting patients into and out of beds, chairs, bathtubs, wheelchairs, lifts etc
- Assist patients to walk with or without self-help devices as instructed
- Observe and report the presence of pressure areas and skin breakdowns to prevent decubitus ulcers (bedsores)
- Report injuries of an unknown source, including skin tears
- Assist with the application of slings, elastic bandages, binders, etc
- Watch for and report any change in room temperature, ventilation, lighting, etc
- Review care plans daily to determine if changes in the patient’s daily care routine have been made on the care plan
- Inform the nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse of any changes in the patient’s condition so that appropriate information can be entered on the care plan
- Ensure that your notes reflect that the care plan is being followed
- Other duties as needed

QUALIFICATONS:
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to have difficult conversations while maintaining compassion
- Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of teamwork and team concept
- Must be self-motivated and have excellent follow-through
- Have the ability to multi task and keep a calm demeanor even in chaotic situations
- Be a champion of positivity and high morale
- Ability to read and write English
- Must have experience with rehabilitation services
Salary : $23 - $25
