About PESCM: located in San Rafael, is the only 24/7 veterinary hospital in Marin with specialties in Internal Medicine, Oncology, Surgery, Neurology, Cardiology, Urgent Care, Emergency, Radiology, and Critical Care. About the Job:
The Kennel Attendant serves as support to veterinarians, the shift leads, technicians, veterinary assistants, and plays a vital role in patient care. Kennel Attendant must value the highest standards in quality of care while also respecting the personal limitations that may impact the decisions made by our clients.
As a Kennel Attendant your responsibilities would include:
- Clean and sterilize surgical instruments
- Be able to properly use and perform maintenance on autoclave, ultrasonic and all cleaning devices
- Have or be willing to obtain a gas sterilizer certificate
- Properly pack instruments using the correct indicators containers and pouches
- Maintain and care for surgical instruments and equipment
- Maintain a log of surgical instruments and pull lists for different surgical procedures
- Surgical scrub laundry and some general cleaning in surgery areas
- Organizing surgical rooms on a daily a basis
- Prepare/clean operating rooms prior to surgery and after surgery
- Familiarity of sterile technique to open instruments during a surgery
- Possibly running bloodwork, assisting with patient care and positioning for x-rays

- No experience necessary
- Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community
- Positive outlook and ability to work well in a collaborative environment
- Excellent communication and organizational skills are required, and the ability to deliver exceptional client service is expected

Salary: $12.00- $25.00 per hour
Schedule: Sunday through Wednesday, 8:00am - 6:30pm
