Veterinary Emergency Care @Lowry is excited to announce we are looking for Registered Veterinary Technicians to join our growing Urgent Care team in the Denver area!
About the job : The Veterinary Technician position will assist the hospital in delivering excellent care to all of our patients within the hospital. Perform Veterinary Technician duties pursuant to Veterinary Emergency Care @Lowry Technician Protocols. Embodies the culture in treating every client with the utmost courteous and attentive treatment possible, with a keen sensitivity to the emotional bond between owners and their pets.
How you'll make a difference :
- Monitor and appropriately document patient vital signs and activity
- Provide all technical support to primary emergency veterinarian
- Provide comfort, diagnostic, surgical and nursing care to all patients including critical care patients
- Perform basic, emergent, and critical care anesthetic monitoring
- Obtain and prepare samples for diagnostic testing including but not limited to blood draws, arterial blood gas sampling, cystocentesis, urinary catheter sampling and free catch urine
- Perform various laboratory procedures including but not limited to blood typing, cross matching, and slide agglutination testing
- Accurately take and process abdominal, thoracic, appendicular, spinal, and skull radiograph while following appropriate radiation safety protocols
- Properly use and maintain medical equipment
- Provide professional client communication
What you will bring :
Schedule : Sunday through Wednesday, or Wednesday through Saturday, 2 : 00pm - 11 : 00pm
Salary : $26.00 - $30.00 / hour, based on experience, plus a $2.00 / hr swing shift differential
