Job Summary:
An experienced credit compliance analyst responsible for monitoring established loan covenants, borrowing base requirements and compliance with executed loan agreements for existing borrowers. This position includes monitoring more complex commercial loans with limited or no supervision. Senior Credit Compliance Analyst II will work closely with other Credit Risk personnel and lending staff to identify potential red flags and to help mitigate risk to the Bank. Additional responsibilities include comparing loan agreements with approved loan terms to ensure approved terms have been adhered to and the electronic credit file for commercial loans is maintained.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Independently analyze and interpret borrowing base documents for revolving lines of credit. Must be able to analyze accounts receivables, accounts payables, and inventory reports to properly assess collateral position using a borrowing base reconciliation worksheet.
Independently analyze and interpret financial information and compliance certificates provided by existing borrowers and recalculate and verify that the covenant compliance ratios are correct using covenant calculation worksheets.
Independently prepare financial statement spreads for existing customers to be used in the underwriting process as well as credit compliance monitoring.
Independently conduct a daily review of new and renewed commercial loans to create or update financial reporting requirements and create the electronic credit file.
Independently monitor financial reporting requirements with detailed and accurate data entry into Sageworks or other appropriate software packages.
Interact closely with Credit Officers, Loan Officers, Lending Managers and their assistants regarding compliance requirements and financial exception reports.
Track all covenant and borrowing base defaults and resolutions.
Independently process automated renewals for commercial loans and ACH reviews for Treasury clients using the standards identified in bank loan policy.
Evaluate the quality of work performed by Credit Analysts I and II for more complex portfolios.
Responsible for assisting with training, development, and mentoring of new credit analysts.
Capability to underwrite new originations as required.
Participate in and lead special projects and handle extra responsibilities as assigned.
Job Skills and Qualifications:
7 years of credit analysis experience required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (BBA), Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
Excellent interpersonal, customer service and communication skills to effectively interact and work with all levels of employees.
Enhanced knowledge of basic accounting principles and concepts, credit principles and general credit policies.
Possess excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively, including adapting to working under tight schedules.
Exposure to financial reporting rules and banking regulations desired.
Full understanding of financial covenant ratio components and calculations.
Must be able to multi-task.
Must be detail and focus oriented.
Must take ownership and responsibility for work product.
Advanced computer skills using Microsoft Office products with an ability to effectively use and understand basic formulas and formatting in Excel.
