veritree is building the next generation digital platform to accelerate investment in nature-based carbon solutions. veritree s digital measurement, reporting and verification (dMRV) technology enables the tracking of impacts throughout a project lifecycle to provide end-buyers with the confidence that their investment is making a real impact with positive outcomes. Our goal is to transform the way carbon emission reduction and removals as well as holistic impacts are measured, monitored, forecasted, and verified for nature-based carbon solutions.
About the role:veritree is inventing new approaches to digitally monitoring, reporting, and verifying (dMRV) nature-based climate solutions (i.e., reforestation). As such, we re seeking a Product Designer to create user-centric interfaces for our platform. This individual will need to understand the needs of our Corporate Partners/Planting Partners/internal team and collaborate with cross-functional teams to design intuitive and engaging user experiences. This role requires creative design skills, technical proficiency, and a deep understanding of user-centred design principles.
This is a 6-month set-term employment contract. Successful applicants must be located in Vancouver, BC and be willing to work from our HQ on a hybrid basis (Tuesday - Thursday).
What will you be doing?Stakeholder Collaboration, Communication, and Analysis
- You will collaborate with stakeholders to understand and help prioritize user goals, needs, and constraints.
- When needed, you will conduct user research to understand user behaviours, needs, and pain points.
- You will collaborate effectively in an agile development environment.
- You will analyze data and feedback to inform design decisions and improvements and continuously improve the product.
Wireframing, Prototyping, and Interface Design
- You will create wireframes, user flows, and prototypes to visualize and communicate design concepts and produce effective visual solutions for presenting complex data.
- You will create designs for both web and a native android application.
- You will iterate on designs based on feedback and usability testing.
- You will develop high-fidelity visual designs for digital interfaces, considering both aesthetics and functionality.
- You will ensure consistency in design elements and brand guidelines across products.
- You will gather and incorporate user feedback into the design process.
- You will ensure that designs adhere to accessibility standards, making products usable by diverse users.
Design Trends, Documentation and Tools
- You will keep abreast of design trends, tools, and industry best practices.
- You will incorporate innovative design concepts into projects.
- You will create and maintain design documentation, including design specifications and guidelines.
- You will utilize design and collaboration tools effectively, specifically Figma and Miro, to create and share design assets.
Requirements
Professional Requirements
- Proven experience as a Product Designer, UI/UX Designer, or similar role in a tech company, with a strong portfolio showcasing problem-solving and design expertise.
- Proficiency in Figma and a solid understanding of front-end technologies, responsive design, and design systems.
- Strong grasp of user-centered design principles, visual design, and mobile-first experiences.
- Experience collaborating in cross-functional teams within an agile environment.
- Familiarity with GIS or map-based solutions is a plus.

A typical hiring range for this position is $80,000 - $125,000 CAD per year with the final salary offer based on your qualifications, job-related skills, and relevant experience.
