Verity is hiring for a Payment Services Specialist III at our Seattle, WA Headquarters location. This is a hybrid position. Since 1933, Verity has been a local member-owned credit union. We are also the only financial institution in the Pacific Northwest that is a part of the Global Alliance for Banking on Values (GABV).

The Payment Services Specialist III works closely with the Operations Support team to provide assistance to members and departments throughout the Credit Union. This position is primarily responsible for maintaining and processing all ACH and check files, exceptions and returns in accordance to NACHA regulations. The Payment Services Specialist III will work closely with IT to test Fedline upgrades and core system enhancements. This role will also assist with other operation functions while working closely with the Payment Services Supervisor and Operations leadership to help develop best practices for optimizing usage and streamlining processes to improve efficiencies and the overall member experience.

- Base Pay: This position has a salary range of $28.97 (minimum) to $43.46 (maximum), with a midpoint of $36.21. Starting pay is offered based upon an applicant’s experience and education relevant to the position.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
ACH and Payment Processing
- Process and review all ACH and check clearing files.
- Review and process all exception files, ACH suspense, ACH clearing, and Bill payer reversals.
- Work returned ACH transactions files.
- Create and maintain all external allotments.
- Process ACH and check disputes.
- Assist with monitoring, reviewing, and facilitating electronic transactions for members through multiple channels including remote deposit capture, business remote deposit capture, ATM, wires, and return items.
Quality Control and Compliance
- Provide quality control and fraud review of ACH and in clearings.
- Support the processing of garnishments, levies, reclamations, and death notifications.
- Assist with annual audits.
- Research member requests of ACH and in clearing items.
General Ledger and Reporting
- Balance the ACH in Process G/L.
- Create and maintain procedures.
- Complete service request tickets.
- System and Software Support
- Assist with testing of software enhancements on systems.
- Upload all external files into imaging software.
- Maintain Fedline Advantage operations, meet deadlines, and schedule system backups after upgrades.
- Troubleshoot system errors and outages.
Cross-Training and Miscellaneous
- Cross-train and provide backup to other job functions within the Operations Department.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School diploma or equivalent. An associate or bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field is a plus.
- 3 years of retail banking experience in an operations role, with demonstrated ability to perform job responsibilities.
- ACH/NACHA certification preferred.
