What youll be doing... Verizon is looking for an experienced attorney to join the Corporate Governance and ESG Reporting team.

Responsibilities will include :

Managing Verizons compliance with existing and emerging domestic and international sustainability-related regulatory frameworks (e.g., CSRD, ISSB, and UK TCFD) and preparing related disclosures.

Partnering with subject matter experts across the company to draft and facilitate the publication of Verizons strategic sustainability-related reporting, including the Responsible Business Report, TCFD Report, CDP response and related disclosures.

Preparing and reviewing SEC filings; monitoring and ensuring Verizons compliance with governance-related requirements under Delaware law, SEC rules and regulations, and NYSE and Nasdaq listing standards.

Monitoring U.S. Federal and state and international sustainability-related legislative initiatives for impacts on Verizon and working with Verizon regulatory and policy teams on advocacy.

Working collaboratively with members of the sustainability, accounting policy, external reporting, enterprise risk management and internal audit teams on reporting matters.

Facilitating communications with investors, employees and other stakeholders regarding the companys sustainability strategy and practices.

Creating a strategic plan for the future of Verizons sustainability-related regulatory and voluntary reporting in response to the evolving legal landscape.

What were looking for... You'll need to have :

J.D. or L.L.M. degree and six or more years of relevant work experience.

Bar membership in good standing in at least one state.

Experience in SEC disclosure at a top law firm or corporate legal department.

Even better if you have one or more of the following :

Knowledge and understanding of U.S. state and federal and international sustainability-related reporting laws and voluntary sustainability-related reporting frameworks, such as SASB, TCFD and CDP.

Experience using Workiva.

Strong writing, editing and oral communications skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships within an organization.

Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and process a large volume of work in a timely manner with attention to detail.

Excellent project management skills.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $151,000.00 and $280,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
