The Marketing Organization at Verizon establishes and builds our brand as the leading mobile and home network in the industry. We understand and adapt to changing customer expectations, provide specialist marketing capabilities, drive consistency of brand messaging, creative and experience, and deliver efficiencies and effectiveness in our communication.

Verizon is looking for an Associate Director, Direct Response Marketing Activation, who will lead a team that delivers creative strategy and development for direct-to-consumer CRM communications for the Verizon Consumer Group.

What you'll be doing :

  • Interfacing and collaborating with cross-functional teams on channel strategies that drive brand consistency across multiple customer touch points and tactics.
  • Ensuring what is communicated to the business unit channels ladders up to Verizon’s overall value proposition in a manner that highlights differentiation and value, as well as the key messaging for your assigned lines of business.
  • Leading a team that executes the end-to-end creative development process for Consumer CRM vehicles - email, direct mail, flyers, mobile push notifications, and SMS / MMS - from point of creative brief and design to final delivery of proofed assets.
  • Presenting creative work / channel strategies to leadership, all the way up to SVP.
  • Partnering with an external agency team to ensure budgets / scope are met, process is optimized and followed, and that creative execution elevates the customer experience.
  • Researching consumer insights and executing exploratory meetings with the agency to deliver tailored, innovative creative, and messaging to unique customer segments.
  • Executing testing opportunities with messaging, creative, and format, while partnering closely with the CRM business unit and the agency.
  • Managing process improvements and ways of working with the agency and all business unit partners to continuously improve speed to market and process agility.
  • Collaborating with multiple stakeholders across Verizon business units and Marketing Organization to deliver campaigns that fulfill the needs of the business, brand, and consumer.
  • Communicating proactively with peers in Marketing Activation and the CRM Business Unit on a weekly basis.
  • Handling escalations and prioritization of work, as needed.
  • Providing guidance, coaching, and development as needed for the team.

You'll need to have :

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Eight or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and / or military experience, or specialized training.
  • Even better if you have one or more of the following :

  • Knowledge of integrated marketing principles.
  • Interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including presentations to leadership and public speaking.
  • People leadership experience.
  • Willingness to write briefs; working closely with all disciplines within the agency / client creative development process.
  • Experience in all things CRM – knowledge of segmentation / targeting, creative execution, creative testing.
  • Willingness to deliver premier customer experiences through multiple CRM touchpoints and marketing channels.
  • Willingness to take smart risks; defending work and making strategic decisions.
  • Willingness to work in a flexible, dynamic, and fast-paced environment.
  • Creative problem-solving skills - ability to analyze information from various sources and extract key messages.

    Where you’ll be working

    In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.

    If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $118,000.00 and $219,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
