Shape the Future of Verizon's Public Sector Business

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead a high-performing team of 15 and make a significant impact on Verizon's growth in the Public Sector. Your expertise will be essential in crafting compelling proposals that win business, lead network modernization and drive innovation.

You'll bring bold, fresh ideas to processes and concepts as you oversee the development and delivery of winning proposals to Federal and SLED (State, Local, and Education) customers.

Your Impact:

• Guide and Mentor: Oversee a talented team of proposal managers, writers, and coordinators, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

• Strategic Leadership:  Drive the successful development and delivery of all Public Sector wireline proposals, ensuring readiness, compliance, and quality.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration:  Engage daily with high-achieving executive leadership, account teams, and capture managers to ensure cutting-edge proposal development and delivery.

• Talent Development:  Recruit, develop, and empower your team, setting performance goals and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

• Process Optimization:  Refine and enhance proposal processes, tools, and templates, driving efficiency and innovation. Collaborate across departments to implement best practices and knowledge management systems.

What We’re Looking For…

• Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent work experience

• 5 - 10 years of experience in proposal management focused on Federal and/or state and local government solicitations, invitations to bid, and responses.

• Proven track record of effective/strong leadership; leading teams of 10 individuals 

• 8 - 10 years of experience as a people leader, including leadership of virtual teams.

• Working knowledge of proposal development life cycles and understanding of Shipley or other proposal development processes.

• Demonstrated ability to and experience in working efficiently under conditions of multiple deadlines and changing priorities.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated experience interacting with personnel in senior leadership positions to present challenges/issues impacting proposal quality and recommending solutions.

• Strong organizational and planning skills.

Even Better If You Have the Following:

• Master’s Degree 

• Experience supporting the development and implementation of process/tool improvements in the proposal industry.

• Experience with set-up/use of proposal collaboration tools and knowledge management tools.

• Experience working with Partners, including Systems Integrators, Business Agents, etc… 

Where You’ll Be Working…

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the VP. The role may also require intermittent travel.

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum eight assigned office days per month that will be set by your manager.
