Job Description
The Outside Plant Operations Professional plays a vital role in maintaining Verizon's outside plant facilities, ensuring they operate at peak efficiency and preparedness. This position requires a strong understanding of outside plant and construction principles, as well as excellent physical abilities.
Responsibilities
- Place, rearrange, and remove outside plant equipment, including aerial, underground, submarine, buried, block, and house cables, poles, and associated hardware/fixtures.
- Connect wires and cables to terminals and attach/detach various kinds of hardware to wires, cables, building, or poles.
- Perform construction work using designated equipment.
- Operate company motor vehicles to transport equipment.
- Climb ladders and poles, working aloft, perceiving differences in wire and cable colors, and moving/lifting items generally not exceeding 100 lbs.
Requirements
- A related Associate Degree or 2 years of relevant work experience.
- CDL or the ability to obtain a CDL.
