What you’ll be doing…
This Northeastern University Co-op position, which is part of the Verizon Campus Program, will allow you to channel your drive and enthusiasm as part of a 6-month rotation from July 21, 2025 to December 12, 2025 working a full-time schedule. You’ll be front and center, hands-on, and contributing your creative energy to high-impact projects from the moment you arrive.

As a Co-op with the Security Engineering team, some of the projects you may work on could enhance your skills in one or more of the following areas:
5G technology.
AR/VR and computer vision.
Python, Java, and expert systems software.
Database management systems (e.g. SQL).
Access management, information assurance, and intrusion prevention.
Cloud security infrastructure, policies and standards, loud vendor assessment, and security configuration.
Data administration and security data classifications, loss prevention, privacy, and incident review.
Identity and access management fraud identification, key management, OAuth, and Open ID.
Incident response, incident management, and triage.
External and internal network security and perimeter security.
You must be currently enrolled in a qualifying Northeastern University bachelor’s degree program and be in good academic standing to be considered.
This Co-op position will be based out of Basking Ridge, NJ, and follow a hybrid work schedule as set by the manager, including work-from-home and intentional in-person days.

You’ll need to have:
Ability to participate in our 6-month co-op that takes place from July 21, 2025 to December 12, 2025 working a full-time schedule.
Current enrollment in a Northeastern University Bachelor’s degree program in Engineering, Telecommunications, Wireless Technologies, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Data Science, or a related major with an expected completion date between December 2025 and June 2026.
Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.
Willingness to travel and work in an assigned Verizon office.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Previous Internship or Co-op experience.
Proficiency in binary analysis.
Knowledge of network security protocols (e.g. TCP/IP).
Knowledge of threat management and incident response (e.g. Splunk).
Knowledge of fraud identification, key management, OAuth, and Open ID.
Knowledge of cloud infrastructure policies and standards as well as security configurations.
Understanding of penetration testing.
Demonstrated independent thinking, relationship management, and attention to detail.
Demonstrated strong analytical, communication, leadership, and presentation skills.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast-moving, team environment.
