This role requires hands-on leadership and strong people management skills, focusing on guiding a team of engineers to manage and optimize our infrastructure. Expertise in AWS and Kubernetes is essential, along with the ability to mentor, delegate, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Below is the annual on-target earnings (OTE) range for full-time employees for this position, comprised of base compensation and commissions (if applicable).

This role requires hands-on leadership and strong people management skills, focusing on guiding a team of engineers to manage and optimize our infrastructure. Expertise in AWS and Kubernetes is essential, along with the ability to mentor, delegate, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Build and lead the team through effective recruitment, mentoring, and leadership.
- Manage cross-functional collaboration with other engineering and security teams to develop best practices and standards for backend developers.
- Hands-on involvement to guide the team, but delegate technical tasks, ensuring engineers have the support and leadership needed to execute.
- Provide strategic direction to improve the reliability, scalability and security of our system.
- 2 years of experience in managing, leading, and inspiring a team of engineers, including hiring, retaining, and managing performance.
- 5 years of work experience in a software engineering role, with proven technical leadership skills and expertise in designing scalable, reliable, and efficient solutions.
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proficient in agile team software development and strong project management, delivering complex projects within defined timelines and resource constraints.
- Adept at collaborating with cross-functional teams, communicating effectively, and aligning efforts to achieve common goals.
- Experience with python or Go, and familiarity with backend development flow including server-side framework and database system.
- Experience with Kubernetes and AWS
- Experience with service mesh such as Istio
- Hands-on leadership experience managing platform teams in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
- Experience implementing scalable and reliable solutions using modern cloud and DevOps practices.
