Description
Verland is currently seeking a ATF Program Assistant to join the team at our Mercer ATF (Adult Training Facility) in Sharon, PA. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for providing Exceptional Care to the individuals that call Verland their Home.
This role requires knowledge of current practices and regulations in the field of Developmental Disabilities. Under the supervision of the ATF Program Specialist the ATF Program Assistant provides needed supervision and assists the with each Individual Support Plan (ISP), identified strengths, needs, likes, dislikes, and preferences for each individual. This is a salaried exempt position.
Contributions:
- Must be fluent on all assigned individuals’ ISPs.
- Assist with hands-on training and training of the individual’s ISP to to assigned staff.
- Participate in 24 hours of annual in-servicing as required by governing regulations.
- Pass medication and complete documentation.
- Maintain Practicum Observer status and observe medication passes of staff.
- Ensure implementation of goal objectives, plans, and procedures.
- Implement daily schedules.
- Maintain good infection control throughout the day.
- Keep a safe, healthy, and clean environment for all individuals.
- Be the liaison for outside companies (Meals on Wheels, Bob Evans, Starbucks, etc.) and paperwork.
- Plan special activities and implement participation.
- Oversee end-of-the-day tasks. Access only the minimum information that is necessary to perform job and comply with Verland’s privacy practices.
- On-call rotation to assist with residential sites.
- Work in collaboration with Program Specialists and other management staff in the monitoring of services provided by Direct Support Professionals (DSPs).
- Assist Program Specialist in ensuring DSPs adhere to the Policies and Procedures of the organization.
- Participate in Quality Assurance and Compliance.
- Perform related duties upon request.

Requirements
- Must possess working knowledge of current practices in the field of IDD.
- Must have a High School Diploma and two years’ experience in the field of IDD.
- Must have excellent verbal and written skills necessary to communicate with individuals and staff and to prepare necessary written documentation.
- Must possess the ability and the empathy needed to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with DSPs and other supervisory staff.
- Must also demonstrate superior leadership and organizational skills. Minimum Training and Experience:
