Description
Verland is currently seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join the team at our Main Campus in Sewickley, PA. In this crucial role, you will be providing Exceptional Care to the individuals that call Verland their Home.
Shifts available : Full Time- 36 hours
Week 1
- 6 pm - 6 : 30 am : Thursday thru Saturday
Week 2
6 pm - 6 : 30 am : Wednesday thru FridayThe Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for continuous quality care to our residents. Additionally, under the supervision of the House Manager, CNA's mentor the Direct Support Professional (DSP) staff who provide direct care services to our individuals with complex physical, medical and intellectual challenges. This is an hourly, non-exempt position.
Contributions :
Instruct and perform tasks to support DSPs in assisting our individuals with their activities of daily living, including : feeding, dressing, toileting, bathing, transporting, mobility, turning and positioning, oral hygiene, shaving, and nail care, as well as performing other healthcare tasks as needed.Provide, obtain, and perform direct patient care, including : skin evaluations, blood pressure checks, collection of specimens, intakes and outputs, ambulation, meal consumptions, height and weight checks, glucometer readings, bladder scans, G-tube monitoring / maintenance,colostomy and urostomy care, catheter care, and equipment calibration.Assist RN / LPN with positioning of residents during medication administration.When an LPN / RN is not present in the home, the CNA will be responsible for disconnecting and reconnecting a G-tube when individuals are being attended.Obtain and record vital signs; obtain urine and stool samples when requested by the Nursing Department.May perform venipuncture for lab draws if experienced and certified in Phlebotomy.Assists with transport preparation and accompanies individuals to medical appointments.Observe individuals for physical and psychosocial needs, attitudes, reactions, etc., and report unusual findings to the Charge Nurse.Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings in order to provide feedback regarding direct observations of individual residents to professional staff.Perform other duties as required.Exceptional Benefits :

High school diploma or GED certificate.Must have a PA Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license, having successfully completed a Pennsylvania state-approved Nurse's Aide Training Program and Competency Evaluation.Must have at least six (6) months clinical experience as a CNA.Should have ability to comprehend reports and regulations, as well as speak and provide written documents in an understandable manner.Must demonstrate flexibility and initiative in performing job responsibilities.Experience with ID / IDD individuals is ideal.Proven leadership and supervisory experience preferred.APPLY TODAY to make a lasting impact!
