Job Summary
Work Shift
1 - First Shift
Are you the type of person who is detail orientated and consistently follows processes? In this role you will provide accurate information to production in order to efficiently and effectively maintain standard practices for the production environment. We’re looking for independent thinkers with knowledge of operations, MRP systems, value streams and lean processes.
What You’ll Do
1. Monitor schedule performance and communicate potential changes with the corporate scheduling team.
2. Manage all aspects of assigned area including, but not limited to, projects, production, costs, scheduling, shipping, receiving and quality. Ensure on-time delivery of the product, within budget, and meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
3. Drive root cause problem solving to address vendor, supplier and customer issues concerning quality and delivery.
4. Ensure projects and customer requests are completed on time and with accuracy to meet customer expectations. Ex.: coordinating physical inventory.
5. Lead the development and implementation of lean principles and continuous improvement projects to improve cost, quality and safety standards for assigned area.
6. Manage required documentation to meet Vermeer internal and external regulations.
7. Encourage team member development and engagement. Create an environment for team members to learn and grow.
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in business management, supply chain or related field preferred.
- Minimum five years' experience in manufacturing; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Ability to prepare thorough, accurate, professional and error-free documents.
- Knowledge of CNC Plate cutting machines.
- Knowledge of supply chain logistics, data analytics, and inventory management.
- Continuous improvement experience preferred with understanding of LEAN principles.
- Ability to supervise team in the performance of duties such that performance meets or exceeds expectations.
Travel
- Occasional travel is expected of this position.
