Pay $25-$36/hour (pay is dependent on relative experience) plus opportunity for bonuses!

FUNCTION: Each Service Technician is responsible for high quality and effective repair of equipment. Provides excellent customer service, maintains professionalism, and ensures detailed records are accurate and up to date.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Service, repair, assemble and recondition equipment as assigned
- Diagnose basic problems and determine what repairs are required with assistance as needed
- Research, identify, and order correct parts required to perform repairs using electronic parts manuals
- Perform any inspections as required
- Maintain complete and detailed working records
- Maintain and care for all shop tools, machines and equipment
- Suggest any additional repairs needed to Service Manager
- Help maintain cleanliness, neatness and safety of your work area
- Update Service Admin via Modern, spreadsheet and verbal communication of equipment repair status
- Stay current with the latest trends and developments within your field and industry by continuing your education with Factory Service Schools, VGP Service Schools, Individual Development Plans, etc.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments and adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in Employee Handbook and set by Vermeer Great Plains
- Other duties as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Must be committed to and take a pro-active approach to our Company Mission, Vision and Values
- Strong PC proficiency with MS Windows and MS Office Suite, CDK a plus
- Demonstrated experience with hydraulic systems, electrical, electronics, pneumatics, diagnosing and calibration
- Owns and maintains personal tools and toolbox required
- Ability to safely operate industrial equipment; including forklift, overhead hoist, etc.
- Mechanical/technical aptitude with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong current electronic diagnosing capabilities
- Good working knowledge of equipment operations and mechanical functions
- Demonstrated safe work habits
- High degree of customer service to both internal and external customers
- Strong ability to adapt to the people and environment around them - customers, suppliers, co-workers and manufacturer's employees
- Ability to conduct yourself in a professional, ethical and reliable manner with minimal supervision
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in order to communicate professionally, respectfully and honestly at all times
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs, stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle, feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk and hear 100% of the time
- Ability to be exposed to extreme weather elements, including wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold and extreme heat regularly
- Ability to withstand moderate to high noise level in working environment regularly
- Regular attendance is required
- Must be able to work overtime and/or weekends as needed
- Bilingual is a plus
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate degree in Applied Science, Diesel Mechanics, Diesel Technology, or related field, and 1 year of technician experience in heavy equipment or industrial equipment industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience required
- Vermeer Technician Certification required within 6 months of start date
- Must have a valid unrestricted Driver’s License and ability to maintain one throughout employment
- Background check, pre-employment drug testing and clean driving record required
