What are the responsibilities and job description for the Legal II Secretary position at Vermilion County State's Attorney's Office?
Under the general direction, performs responsible and complex secretarial work for one or more assistant state’s attorneys and the State’s Attorney; accepts complete responsibility for the initiation and follow-through of one or more office procedures, which requires the ability to make responsible decisions in accordance with the established policies of the State’s Attorney.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serves as a secretary/receptionist for the entire office.
- Screens telephone calls, handling them personally, if possible.
- Greets and handles visitors to the office.
- Drafts legal documents such as subpoenas, notices and legal correspondence for review, approval and use by attorney.
- Follows and agrees to office policies including, but not limited to confidentiality agreement.
- Establishes and maintains files and filing systems for closed files.
- Performs related duties as required or assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
