Vermont Farm Table is currently seeking a dynamic Residential Sales Representative to join our dedicated and experienced team. This role requires a self-starter who is passionate about customer relationship management, and the furniture and interior design industries. Prior experience within the furniture and interior design industries is preferred, however with qualifying skills and a desire to learn VFT will train for longterm success.
VFT is a solid wood furniture manufacturer that has grown over the past 16 years from a small, residentially focused company to a multichannel provider of beautiful custom products. Sales range from residential to larger commercial projects locally and nationwide. Every project is unique, and all products are made to order in our Bristol, VT woodshop with a focus on sustainability and heirloom quality.
In the role of Residential Sales Representative you will be responsible for the management and growth of our Residential sales channel, with the objective of closing sales in order to meet sales targets, and supporting the success of the sales team as a whole. In this role, you will work closely with both direct-to-consumer and interior design clients as well as our internal sales and operations team daily.
This is a hybrid role with most regular work taking place "remotely"; VFT provides membership for co-working space in Burlington, VT side by side with our Sales & Marketing team. There will be an occasional need for in person work at our Bristol, VT woodshop.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
RESIDENTIAL SALES
- Own the direct-to-consumer and residential interior design sales channels, responding daily to client inquiries and following up with the objective of generating sales
- Manage the entire sales cycle from lead generation to deal closure
- Provide excellent customer service to new and existing clientele via email and phone
- Generate quotes in collaboration with product and engineering and provide sales resources to clients, working with existing systems and processes and identifying areas for improvement to your workflow and success
- Manage clients and projects utilizing the VFT Operations Database, from initial quotes and renderings to post-sale
- Communicate with the Director of Operations and Woodshop Team to provide accurate client expectations around woodshop capabilities, lead times, and delivery
CHANNEL DEVELOPMENT
- Further develop existing relationships and establish new business relationships within the residential interior design industry by utilizing sales and marketing tools within the company
- Email, phone, or video outreach to potential residential interior design clients to grow the sales channel
- Stay current with furniture industry and interior design trends, competitor activities, and areas for growth
- Collaborate with marketing and product teams to develop compelling sales pitches and materials
- Represent the company at networking events, industry conferences, and client meetings as opportunities arise
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in customer relations and sales relationships that have driven business growth
- Excellent written and oral communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to engage and influence all buying audiences
- Proven ability to self-manage with a strong work ethic, meticulous attention to detail, and clear organization
- Experience with digital organization/system management database (Airtable) is preferred but not required; web-based apps, email management, and Mac OSX. Comfort learning this system and working in multiple applications and computer-based work is a requirement
- Interest in the world of design and architecture with a focus on solid wood furniture
