Accounts Payable Specialist – South Burlington, VT

Vermont Federal Credit Union is recruiting for an Accounts Payable Specialist out of our South Burlington Operations Center.

Job Description:

• Update and maintain all Fixed Assets and Prepaids. Accurately input new Fixed Assets and Prepaids. Track work in progress and allocate all assets accordingly.
• Performs all aspects of accounts payable processing, including preparing bills for payment, assigning account numbers, entering information into the accounts payable software, obtaining, authorizations for payment and mailing payments. Assisting with the month-end process for accounts payable, fixed assets and prepaids.
• Process yearend tax reporting for all 1099 vendors. Create and send all Tax files by their due dates. Create and send all correction files for 1099’s and 1098’s.
• Process all Corporate Credit Cards and travel expense vouchers.
• Daily Reconciliation of the Fed account and online payment system. Reconciles teller cash drawers on a daily basis. Corrects teller cash, vaults balances, and ATM balances as needed.
• Back up the ATM/Credit & Debit Card Balancing, Cash/Coin shipments, ATM residuals, assess/reverse fees as necessary. Back up to inputting originations.
• Enters and/or verifies incoming and outgoing wires. Check names and account numbers for accuracy. Download all outgoing wires into imaging system. Verify all origination changes
• Assist others within the department as necessary. Including scanning documents as needed.
• Deliver outstanding service that is in alignment with the Credit Union's Service Promises.

Requirements:

• Three years to five years of similar or related experience.
• An associates degree in Accounting or related field, or achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor’s degree (e.g. information technology certifications in lieu of a degree).
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Proficiency with general office equipment and spreadsheet software.
