Job Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage with students during after-school activities to ensure a safe and supportive environment.
- Assist in planning and implementing educational and recreational activities that promote learning and development.
- Monitor student behavior and enforce program rules and regulations.
- Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns.
- Maintain accurate attendance records and report any absences or irregularities to the Program Coordinator.
- Set up and clean up activity areas, ensuring all materials and equipment are properly stored.
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive and effective program.
- Provide first aid and respond to emergencies according to program guidelines.
- Participate in regular staff meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and program quality.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience working with children in an educational or recreational setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage and engage a group of children effectively
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- CPR/FirstAid/AED certification required
- Ability to pass a background check
- Flexibility to work weekday afternoons and evenings
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Creative and enthusiastic approach to activities and problem-solving
- Ability to maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all participants
