Since 1974, VHFA has been dedicated to financing and promoting affordable, safe, and decent housing opportunities for low- and moderate-income Vermonters. As part of VHFA’s IT Department, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and advancing our technological infrastructure, helping VHFA achieve its programmatic goals and fulfill its mission.
As the IT Support Specialist, you will assist VHFA’s IT Department in maintaining a Windows-based client/server network, managing workstations, and configuring hardware and software. You will collaborate with IT staff to identify, select, and implement the Agency’s hardware, software and system needs. This role places a strong emphasis on web-related issues, application support, and managing third-party tools to enhance the Agency’s digital presence and operational efficiency.
To be considered for this position, you will bring:
- Experience in a Windows client/server environment. Formal coursework or a degree in computer science is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with programming languages, such as HTML, CSS, PHP, SQL (MS SQL, MySQL), JavaScript is desirable.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work systematically and efficiently.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.

- The ability to work well independently, as part of a team, and with a wide variety of community members and partner agencies.
Travel may occasionally be required to attend software provider conferences.
