What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Literacy Camp Facilitator position at Vermont Literacy Network?
Vermont Literacy Network is seeking a creative, enthusiastic Summer Literacy Camp Facilitator to lead literacy camps this summer! This role involves developing and implementing engaging, evidence-based literacy activities, and creating a fun environment that encourages a love of reading and writing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate half-day literacy camps for children ages 3-6 and 7-10
- Create a positive, inclusive environment that supports literacy skill development for children of all backgrounds and learning needs
- Design and lead daily activities that correspond with the camp's theme
- Maintain open communication with the Executive Director and the students' adults
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education (or related field); VT Teaching License preferred***
- Experience working with children in educational or camp settings
- Strong commitment to promoting equity, inclusion, and cultural responsiveness in all programming and interactions
- Passion for fostering a love of reading and supporting students’ academic growth
***Exceptions may be made for pre-service educators and/or individuals with extensive history working with children.
Work Schedule:
- Monday-Friday 8:30AM-12:30PM
Salary : $22 - $25
