Medical / Surgical Assistant

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting surgeons during surgical procedures. Your expertise and attention to detail will contribute to the successful outcome of surgeries and the overall well-being of our patients.

Duties:
- Prepare operating rooms for surgery, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available
- Assist surgeons during surgical procedures by passing instruments, sutures, and other supplies
- Maintain a sterile field during surgery to minimize the risk of infection
- Monitor patients' vital signs and assist with patient assessment before, during, and after surgery
- Prepare and position patients for surgery, ensuring their comfort and safety
- Document patient information accurately in medical records using electronic health record systems like Epic
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols to maintain a safe and clean surgical environment

Skills:
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to accurately document patient information in electronic health record systems like Epic
- Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals
- Knowledge of vital signs monitoring and patient assessment techniques
- Understanding of infection control protocols and ability to maintain a sterile surgical environment
