Primary responsibilities and scope of position include the following:
The Production Scheduler is part of the Vermont Packinghouse leadership team and is primarily responsible for the work schedules, order communication and follow through, data management, and communication of resulting data for all production teams within the facility. The role is the connection point between the plant customers’ day-to-day needs and internal considerations communicated through the leadership team. The role’s responsibilities are to be understood and carried out in coordination with the production leadership and management teams to ensure the organization’s overall success.
Specific accountabilities include but are not limited to the following:
· Effective prioritizing of daily and longer term work tasks in coordination with production leadership & management team and organization’s needs.
· Maintain mindset committed to continuous improvement and overall company success.
· Maintain effective knowledge of production processes and general work tasks along with relevant information flow. Additionally, maintain a basic understanding of ancillary departments’ processes and relevant information flow.
· Maintain and continuously build upon work schedules, scheduling systems, order communication tools, and relevant data for the facility’s daily needs, bridging gap between external customers and internal teams as needed. Ensure all orders are created, communicated, and executed as submitted.
· Maintain productive and positive working relationship with colleagues and superiors. Contribute towards effective communication and teamwork within the facility.
· Work with team to identify problems in both production and the facility as a whole and generate and implement solutions to those problems.
· Act as the main connection point on day to day production needs between external customers and internal team members.
· Excellent composure and decision making under pressure.
· Other duties as necessary and assigned.
Education / Experience
Associates Degree or Equivalent. Previous experience in data entry, data systems, customer service, and work scheduling.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Excellent organization, recordkeeping, and attention to detail capabilities
· Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (and similar) Word and Excel applications
· Ability to learn, process, and execute on new information quickly
· Ability to take changing circumstances in stride and adjust course
