Claims Adjuster Workers Compensation

VSBIT is looking for a Workers' Comp Adjuster to serve its Vermont School members. Must be a Vermont Licensed WC Claims Adjuster
1-3 years of claims handling experience.

Pay will be commensurate with experience.

Potential for hybrid in-office/remote

Working knowledge of Vermont regulations, subrogation, disability, and medical management practices

Ability to investigate and adjust workers’ compensation claims involving coverage and compensability decisions with exposure less than $25,000.00 with a mix of medical only and minimal lost time claims, based on experience

Ability to interview employees, employers, witnesses and pursue medical evidence and/or documentation related to pending claims

Develop action plans to identify outstanding issues and applicable benefits, coordinate return to work efforts, file appropriate State forms and process timely payments

-Knowledge of medical and legal terminology
-Excellent oral and written communication skills
-PC literate to include Microsoft Office products
-Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
-Ability to understand how individual effort contributes to team goals and accomplishments
-Maintain and meet state specific licensing requirements
-Attend meetings, conferences, workshops, or trainings
-Ability to perform a wide range of duties and responsibilities with accuracy and a high level of customer service
-A willingness to learn and grow with professional development opportunities

Job Type: Full-time
