Our new Manager will lead our Quechee team in sharing our story, experiences and Brands with guests 21 at our Meeting House tasting room, Harry's cocktail lounge and outdoor deck (seasonal).
As our Manager your role will be to lead the retail and cocktail team to ensure our guests feel welcomed like family, are enlisted in our stories, have a great visit and leave with a taste of Vermont that makes them want to come back with friends.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the Meeting House and Cocktail Bar, creating a welcoming environment with smooth and efficient service provided by an engaging and friendly staff.
- Ensure every guest feels welcomed, valued and respected at every step of their visit, from their discovery of an authentic Vermont "liquid-to-lips" experience to live entertainment and a regular rotation of craft cocktails made from our Brands.
- Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and profitability (eg events, live music, wedding packages, etc).
- Ensure retail inventory, merchandise and supplies are in-stock and of the quality consistent with our Brands.
- Manage retail/bar suppliers, keep records current and provide to bookkeeper, make bank deposits.
- Ensure exceptional cleanliness and organization of the retail, bar and deck areas.
- Collaborate with and support Marketing activities.
- Be a part of the community, not only welcome the community into our establishment, engage in community activities outside of our walls, ie chamber events, engage with neighbors and be a patron with out local partners.
- Ensure compliance with all liquor, health and safety regulations.
- Participate in mandatory industry trainings as prescribed by VTDLL and OSHA.
- Handle customer complaints and resolve any issues quickly in a professional manner.
- "Pitch in" where and when needed to help Vermont Spirits continue to grow and elevate its reputation as a "business of excellence".
Qualifications:
- Trustworthy, dependable and takes pride in being a utility player on an admired team.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to recruit, motivate and inspire your team.
- Excellent interpersonal, conversational and written communication.
- Effective skills in time management and organization.
- Takes initiative to solve challenges and initiate positive change.
- Proven success as a Manager or similar role in hospitality (preferred), bar, restaurant or retail.
- Highly skilled in administrative tasks such as scheduling, inventory management, and budgeting.
- Well developed abilities in budget planning, revenue forecasting and retail mix selection.
- Working knowledge of managing retail POS systems (Square, Toast, Clover).
- Is personally passionate about the glorious Upper Valley.
Hours:
- As Manager you will be responsible to determine hours most effective to achieve your goals and objectives.
- Specific hours will be based on need (carries by season, week and staffing plan).
- Total 40-50 hours per week expected.
Compensation:
- Salary based on skills and experience.
- Annual performance bonus potential.
- Tips are pooled and shared among the retail team during their shifts (manager tip participation according to VT laws).

Must be willing and able to help where and when needed. Occasionally we need 'all hands' to help bottling, for example.
