The School of STEM Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Technology of Vermont State University invites applications for a Part-Time Faculty for the Spring 2025 Semester (January 21 - May 16, 2025).

The course to be taught is MEC 1011 Design Communication 1

The course is offered through the CWPE (Center for Workforce and Professional Education)

The course will be taught at Global Precision in Brattleboro, Vermont

This course provides a basic understanding of the principles and technology of mechanical drawing and computer modeling as methods of documenting and communicating mechanical designs. It covers the concepts of geometric construction and orthographic, sectional, auxiliary, and assembly views and introduces dimensioning methods and types of fasteners. The student gains basic proficiency in using a solid parametric three-dimensional CAD program to build parts, assemblies, and detailed working drawings.

6 hours of studio per week

Candidates may and are encouraged to apply to multiple Part Time opportunities but may not be considered for more than 9 credit hours per semester, per VSC-VSCPTF Bargaining Unit Agreement.

Minimum Qualifications :

The successful candidate will have a bachelor's degree with several years of relevant experience or a Master's degree. Teaching experience is preferred.

Salary :

Based on credits previously taught per VSC-VSCPTF Bargaining Unit Agreement.
