What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paddock Attendant position at Vernon Downs?
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Responsible for many operations throughout the paddock.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Provide excellent guest service to both internal and external guests.
- Actively supports the company culture of creating a fun and entertaining experience for internal and external guests.
- Responsible for placing saddle pad numbers in stalls for races that night.
- Must collect and clean saddle pad numbers from the races that evening.
- Responsible for supplying equipment to trainers if needed for the upcoming races.
- Responsible for informing maintenance of any work that needs to be done in the paddock on broken equipment.
- Responsible for all daily operations of the paddock on qualifying days and race days.
- All other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or GED required. Knowledge of horse racing and some background in maintenance.
SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have experience with horse racing.
