Are you passionate about delivering excellent customer service and adept at handling billing processes? Join our team as a Billing Specialist! In this new role, you will be responsible for verifying insurance eligibility and benefits, completing pre-authorizations for treatments and procedures, and preparing and submitting claims for Critical Access Hospital (CAH) and Provider-Based Rural Health Clinic (RHC) services.
In this role, you'll monitor claim activity and ensure compliance with billing requirements for various payers using the claims clearinghouse. Your analytical skills will help maximize reimbursement through claim analysis, appeals, and dispute resolution. You'll handle payments, adjustments, documentation, and respond to patient billing inquiries. Additionally, you'll manage daily accounts in Epic, assign service codes, research disputed charges, and maintain accurate billing records. You'll prepare month-end and fiscal year-end materials, assist with daily deposits, support Accounts Receivable (A/R) and denial management, verify codes, and aid in billing analytics. You'll also assist the Patient Financial Counselor, answer phones, perform general office duties, and serve as a backup for various department positions. Effective communication with payers and participation in staff and Epic meetings are also expected.
The Billing Specialist is offered an enhanced benefit package including medical, dental, vision, life, short-term disability, Paid Time Off and a 401k savings plan! This is a full-time position with hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, and a starting wage of $17.68 per hour, based on experience.
