What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Laboratory Scientist position at Vernon Memorial HealthCare?
We are looking for a full-time Medical Laboratory Scientist to function as a Generalist exhibiting full competency within the lab departments and a full scope of procedures for a variety of ages, perform and report various analyses of multiple specimen sources, assist with laboratory quality projects and participate in operational support activities necessary to maintain and optimize testing capabilities.

Hours for this Medical Laboratory Scientist position are Monday - Friday, primarily 10:00 am to 6:30 pm with rotating weekends and holidays. Potential to fill in on other shifts as needs arise. Minimum of 3 years relevant experience strongly preferred.
Education:
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited Medical Technology (MT), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) program
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college/university with a major in biological, chemical, or clinical laboratory science with ASCP categorial certification
- ASCP certification preferred
- CPR certification required
