What are the responsibilities and job description for the Rehabilitation Aide - Cardiac Rehab position at Vernon Memorial HealthCare?
Temporary part-time opening for our Cardiopulmonary Diagnostics and Rehabilitation department to assist in the care of cardiopulmonary rehabilitation patients.
Responsibilities include assisting clinical exercise physiologists to care for patients within the rehabilitation service lines including Cardiac, Pulmonary, PAD, and chronic disease management programs. Primary responsibilities in rehab will include assisting patients during their program by following an exercise prescription, prepping patients for exercise, taking vitals, ambulation, and monitoring patients for changes in symptoms. The rehabilitation aide will also assist with cleaning of treatment rooms, rehabilitation areas, and equipment. This role also involves clerical support such as answering phone calls, assisting with inventory, and stocking therapy supplies. Ideal candidates will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Experience in a rehabilitation setting is preferred but not required.
Hours are primarily Monday, Wednesday, Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm with occasional Tuesday or Thursday. This is a temporary position starting 1/20/25 and lasting approximately 8 - 12 weeks. Certification as Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant or enrollment in an undergraduate program in biological and/or exercise science with preference for an emphasis in Cardiac Rehabilitation along with current CPR required.
