Client Overview:
Vernovis is recruiting for an IT Support Engineer to join a leading homebuilding company in Columbus. This role will initially focus on the company’s annual laptop refresh project, transitioning to broader Help Desk responsibilities and long-term integration into the internal IT support team.
What You'll Do:
- Perform PXE imaging and laptop provisioning using Tanium as part of a large-scale laptop refresh project involving 800 devices.
- Follow established processes to configure laptops according to company standards and user-specific needs.
- Provide phone and remote support for divisions across the U.S., resolving hardware and software issues, including Pivotal, Microsoft Office, and JD Edwards applications.
- Maintain thorough documentation of processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps to ensure quality and consistency.
- Utilize ticketing systems to document, track, and resolve technical issues with a focus on customer service.
- Manage an assembly-style build process with attention to throughput, accuracy, and defect prevention.
- Train new employees on basic PC functions, Outlook, and company-specific tools, contributing to knowledge-sharing and user education.
What Experience You'll Have:
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to assist users remotely and over the phone.
- Experience in troubleshooting technical issues, multitasking, and following detailed workflows in a high-volume environment.
- Familiarity with laptop provisioning processes and tools such as Tanium or other imaging systems.
What Experience is Nice to Have:
- Previous experience in a help desk or IT support role, with knowledge of ticketing systems and remote support tools.
- Technical certifications such as CompTIA A or equivalent technical proficiency.
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is preferred but not required.
