Open since 2007, Vero has been a beautiful Victorian home turned into a coffeeshop, as well as a second home for many Eugenians. Barista Job Responsibilities:

• Welcomes customers warmly by determining their coffee interests and needs.

• Educates customers by presenting and explaining the coffee drink and food menu; answering questions.
• Prepares and sells coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks, such as, espresso, caffe latte, and cappuccino.

• Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply; stocking coffee brewing equipment; maintaining supplies, and ingredients for meals.
• Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations.
• Can do simple math on the register, and give proper change back to the customer.
• Able to read and follow standardized recipes.
• Able to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen atmosphere.
• Attends to the detail and presentation of each order.
• Places and expedites orders efficiently.
• Adheres to proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures; maintains temperature and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) logs as required; and maintains appropriate dating, labeling, and rotation of all food items.
• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation of equipment, food storage, and work areas.
• Listens to customer complaints and suggestions and resolves complaints.

Requirements:

• High school diploma, GED, or college preferred
• at least 1 years coffee experience
• preferably 1 years kitchen cooking experience
• must be able to cook & do kitchen prep/cutting skills
• preferably Eugene native, someone who will be in Eugene a few years

Pay: $13.50 - $15.00 per hour
